Sibling bonding

I've got two little girls, 7 years old and 7 months. After bath time, I get some baby oil and let the baby rub it onto my older child's back. It's a great bonding process for both of them!

Sanity saver

To maintain my sanity in those exhausting first six weeks I made a big sign to stick on the front door of my home that said, "Mom and baby are sleeping. Don't ring or knock unless we're expecting you." It really worked.

Clean clothes

We always think about packing a spare set of clothes clothes in the nappy bag for baby, but it's a good idea to pack a spare set for yourself too. Last time I flew, my girls were both sick... on me! I didn't have a spare set of clothes.

Time out

Toddlers need down time too. I was over scheduling my tot with activities and play dates and he'd get so ratty our outings became a nightmare. Out of pure frustration I stopped going out and realised that he was so much happier at home in his own environment, playing quietly with me pottering nearby.
