Baby that won’t settle

 

When Joshua was a tiny baby he would get fussy. If it was too cold to take him out, I would put him in his car seat and put it securely on the tumble dryer and switch the tumble dryer on. I would stand nearby with my hand on the machine, of course! The white noise from the tumble dryer and the gentle rocking imitates that of a car and calmed him down very quickly. It worked for me and for others I know!!

When learning to feed themselves, many babies try to grab the spoon. Give your baby a spoon of her own but use one yourself to slip food into her mouth.

Old toothbrushes

 

Don't throw away old, used toothbrushes. They are great to use on toddler's tiny toes and fingers as a nailbrush after a day of exploring the garden.

As baba nie wil latch nie

 

As jy in die hospitaal sukkel dat baba moet latch of jy het nie genoeg melk nie, vat 'n inspuiting en suig uitgepompte borsmelk of formule melk met hom op. Vat jou indeksvinger en sit in baba se mond. Drup die melk op jou vinger terwyl baba suig. So kry sy melk in en moet self die suigwerk nog doen en kry nie nipple confusion nie. Ek het dit gedoen met formulemelk en later het my melk ingekom en my baba het geen probleem gehad om my eie melk daarna te drink nie.

Become a morning person

 

Some of you might already do this but if you don’t - get up every morning at 5 am! Starting your day fresh, before the kids are up (unless you’ve got a baby), makes such a difference to the hours before you. The alarm goes off, you stretch, you jump out of bed. Simple!
