I left my homework at school...

 

"I don’t have the homework" or textbook can be one way your child checks out of their daily responsibility. If kids get some free time by forgetting then why would they ever remember them? Try 1) use a planner or 2)rewarding for remembering or 3)loss of time privelage (TV, internet etc)

Have each child bring their ipod or CD player and headphones and don’t forget extra batteries. Agree before departure on where, when and how often they may plug in. Why not persuade them to try some books on tape?www.listenerslibrary.co.za

Does your little one cling to a comfort object?

 

Relax. Whether it’s a blanket, toy or dummy, these items are a familiar comfort when your baby is out if its usual environment or routine. Your child needs some consistency at these times and its comfy item is a good substitute for mom and dad. Your little one will wean him or herself off the item with time.

When you need your toddler to really listen, whisper. Speak in a quiet voice so that he is forced to listen... My toddler loves this.

Mosquito repellent

 

A natural, safe remedy to keep mosquitos away from your baby is to add a few drops of vanilla essence to a small bowl of water in her room. Mosquitos hate the smell of vanilla and you have a sweet smelling natural air freshener.
