Q&A: Essential oils

Q&A: Essential oils

Tina Otte answers:

There are many aromatherapy essential oils that are safe to use during pregnancy. I would suggest not using any essential oils until after 12 weeks. I would suggest you only use lavender, geranium, patchouli, sandalwood, neroli, lime and mandarin- these oils are safe to use during pregnancy.

Oils are absorbed more through the skin than through breathing, so wearing a mask is not going to amke a difference. I am more concerned about the oils getting into your system via the skin. Wearing gloves is not really an option with true essential oils as they eat through the latex.

I strongly suggest that you contact the manufacturers and ask them if they are safe to use druing pregnancy. I cannot advise on the botanical mixtures as I have not worked with them, and you do not mention what is in the product you are using.

Good luck and stay safe and healthy!

I tested positive on HPT on the 6th august,my last period was on 28 July.On the 13th of August I started spoting, small blood it wasn't like a normal periods. From there when I took HPT it was negative, the following months in September I saw my periods on 11th,In October I missed then I took HPT and it's positive and now I have all the symptoms of pregnancy.my question is: is it possible that i've been pregnant from July or I had a miscarriage? but I didn't have signs of miscarriage,or I should start counting my pregnancy from my last day I was on my periods which is September? Or it's possible to test positive while not pregnant? I'm confused because I don't know how far I am!
